Hatfeild Primary School panto a sell-out
Children and teachers dressed up for a sell-out panto at a primary school last week.
Audiences crammed into the 120-seat hall to enjoy four performances of Cinderella at Hatfeild Primary School in Lower Morden between February 5 and 8.
The modernised version of the classic fairytale performed by four teachers and pupils aged 7 to 11-years-old featured a group of hooligans as well as all the traditional characters.
Merton Mayor, councillor Krystal Miller attended one of the performances and was presented with a bunch of flowers.
The annual panto is a much-loved school tradition, with ex-pupils returning to take part and former governor, Adam Benjamin, writing the script with plenty of "Hatfeild jokes".
The performance was directed by Tracey George, a former parent who took time off work to put the show together.
A school spokesperson said: "It's probably the best one we have done so far. "This year it was more popular because each time they switched some of the speaking parts so more children could get involved."
