Young scouts were among dozens of volunteers who braved plummeting temperatures to raise awareness of homelessness at the weekend.

More than £9,100 has been raised so far as part of the YMCA London South West campaign Sleep Easy, that saw the youngsters join YMCA staff and Merton Council's housing director Simon Williams for a night under the stars.

Around 20 people including the 23rd Camberwell scouts slept under cardboard covers at the Holy Trinity Church in the Broadway on Saturday, January 25 to raise funds for projects and campaigns that work to tackle poverty and homelessness.
