The mystery of personal items discovered at the bottom of a 'Jimmy Choo' bag donated to a Wimbledon charity shop has been solved.
Charity shop volunteers were bemused to discover a child's South African passport and gold and silver jewellery inscribed with her name in a covert compartment within the bag's lining.
Julie Proctor, manager of Cancer Research, Wimbledon Village, who bought the imitation bag as a present for her daughter, raised her concerns for the child.
Wrapped in cellophane, the donated bag had appeared unused.
The Wimbledon Guardian launched an appeal to help find Tania, who was 15 when the passport expired 18 years ago.
Tania Valente Rodrigues, now 33, traced her belongings after a Wimbledon Guardian reader contacted her on Facebook.
Ms Rodrigues, who has lived in Wimbledon for six years and works in Surrey, said she had recently made a donation to the charity shop, but couldn't imagine how the items had ended up there.
Miss Proctor, who returned the items to their owner, said: "It's great she's alive."
