The panic about an influx of Romanians and Bulgarians with changes to EU regulations has seen one of Wimbledon's favourite characters hit the twittersphere.
Social media users took to the site yesterday to post pictures of Womble Uncle Bulgaria in answer to the hysteria over forecasted mass Eastern European immigration.
A cap on the number of low-skilled Romanian and Bulgarian immigrants allowed to work in the UK expired on Wednesday.
One user Eoin Clarke joked: "Bulgarians invade Wimbledon Common - Coming over here stealing our litter"
@AuntSelly wrote: "Note to all newspapers: Bulgarians have been quietly living and working underground and overground at Wimbledon Common for generations."
