Businesses and residents in Morden banded together to spread some Christmas cheer last weekend.
Dozens turned out to support Light up Morden on Saturday, December 6, which called on the community to come out and enjoy a host of free entertainment as town’s Christmas lights were switched on by the mayor of Merton, Councillor Krystal Miller.
The event, organised by Love Morden, featured live music and carol singing in Morden Underground station and performances by school choirs including Poplar, Hillcross, Abbotsbury, Perseid and Malmsbury.
The Merton Music Foundation provided a marching percussion band while the Busy Bees Nursery put on face painting.
The event was capped off with a firework display.
