Three men appear in court after 5,000 cannabis plants are discovered in warehouse raid
Three men have appeared in court charged with drug offences after 5,000 cannabis plants were discovered in a warehouse.
Officers discovered the cannabis factory after carrying out a raid at a warehouse in Mill Lane, Waddon, on October 29.
As well as the cannabis, officers seized thousands of pounds worth of hydroponics, ventilation and heating equipment.
The drug haul is thought to be worth somewhere in the region of £2.5m, with each plant estimated to be worth about £500 if harvested and sold.
Colman Joyce, 23, of McRae Lane, Mitcham, Simon James Neal, 40, of Neckinger Estate, Rotherhithe, and Jason Mizzi, 42, of Ramilles Close, Brixton, appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on October 31.
The three men are each charged with the production of cannabis and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
They were remanded in custody to appear at Croydon Crown Court on November 14.
