Wanda visits the Dog & Fox, Wimbledon Village
A Sunday afternoon jaunt in Wimbledon Village brought me to the recently refurbished Dog & Fox.
This traditional English pub is part of the Young’s franchise and sits in the hub of the village.
It is distinctively Wimbledon, with a room adorned with tennis rackets and paintings of horses on Wimbledon Common.
There is also a beer garden to the front of the building, which has high stools and heaters housed within a large patio area.
I manage to find myself a seat next to the open fire on a plush sofa.
The pub is bustling with afternoon drinkers, families tucking into roast dinners and couples hiding from a rainy Sunday afternoon.
A lively atmosphere punctuates the whole of the pub, with friendly staff happy to help with recommendations.
Behind the bar you will find a range of lagers, ciders and the usual array of Young’s ales.
Wine prices start at about £15.90 a bottle, with sparkling and dessert sections on the list.
If you are looking for something to eat there are the usual Sunday roasts, as well as standard pub grub.
You can even order a platter of all three roasts if your stomach is up to it.
