Designer handbag auction to raise money for St Raphael's Hospice
Fashionistas will have the chance to grab a bargain at a designer charity auction in support of St Raphael's Hospice.
Handbags for Hospices, an auction organised by two fashion enthusiasts from Sussex, will sell ladies’ handbags from well-known designers in Wimbledon, with bidding starting from £10 on most bags.
With support from Vogue, Grazia, You magazine and donations from a number of celebrities including Davina McCall, Zoe Ball and Liz Hurley, Handbags for Hospices raised more than £12,000 for charity last year, and the Wimbledon auction will be its first London event.
Abigail Bowen, founder of Handbags for Hospices, said: ‘The atmosphere at our events is electric and everyone is so supportive and encouraging.
"Our guests love the bags - some women even end up going home with three or four.
"But most importantly, we love being able to help generate vital funds for hospices, while having a great evening."
The auction will take place on Thursday, October 3, in Wimbledon’s Cannizaro House.
