One of the world’s top martial artists dropped in celebrate the 40th anniversary of the English Goju-Ryu Karate-do Association (EGKA).
Hundreds of high-kicking karate enthusiasts from across Europe gathered at Harris Academy Morden yesterday to see Tetsuji Nakamura.
He is the 7th Dan and World Chief Instructor of the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Federation (IOGKF), lead a three-day training session.
It was the first time Mr Nakamura, who is from Osaka, Japan but lives in Canada, had visited England in 10 years since his appointment as World Chief Instructor last year.
Linda Marchant, 6th dan, from Tooting Karate Club, said: "It is a real honour to have the newly appointed World Chief Instructor visiting London.
"This event is a great opportunity for all my students to train under Nakamura Sensei's tutelage and also meet up with other students from around the UK and Europe."
