Businesses save 29 trees by recycling five tonnes of paper
8:00am Saturday 16th March 2013 in News By Lauren May, Chief Reporter
A new recycling initiative has seen business recycle five tonnes of paper and cardboard in just two months.
Love Wimbledon launched their free cardboard and recycling service in January in partnership with First Mile with 52 businesses in the town centre taking part in the scheme so far.
Their efforts have saved seven tonnes of carbon dioxide - the equivalent of 29 trees.
Helen Clark Bell from Love Wimbledon said: "Since our recycling service began in January of this year, the response has been phenomenal and the savings we’ve been able to provide our businesses has been fantastic.
"It’s a result that the team at Love Wimbledon are incredibly proud of."
