A barking mad Chelsea fan is hoping his dedication to the team will win him two season tickets.

Max the border doodle from Mitcham is just one pet pooch taking part in a competition to celebrate Britain’s army of doggie football fans.

The two-and-half-year-old mongrel joins his family to watch every Chelsea football club game and even predicts the score by barking a certain number of times before kick-off, according to his owner.

Terri Crockett, 33, from Mitcham, said: "Before the game my husband sits down with him and he’ll count the barks and say that’s going to be six goals."

"That’s what my husband says but I think its wishful thinking.

"We all sit and watch it and he barks and doesn't sit still and follows the ball over the screen.

"He wears my daughter’s shirt that’s too small for her now for the big games."

The competition, run by TV Bet, is calling on owners to nominate their football mad dogs for the chance to win two season tickets.

No. It's a dog. How about instead of companies running these stupid competitions they actually give season tickets to loyal fans who are already dishing out £60 per match to go to a game.
