Man cut free from car

A road was closed this afternoon after an accident in Mitcham, where emergency services cut a man free from his car.
Emergency services were callled to Western Road at 2.36pm this afternoon to an incident at the junction of Mount Road and Lavender Avenue.
Two cars are believed to have been involved in the accident after one went into the back of the other.
One male, believed to be in his 50s, was cut from his his car after suffering suspected spinal injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Western Road was closed in both directions and bus route 152 diverted while the accident was cleared.
The road has since been reopened.
