West Barnes Library sees campaigners in new Spring push for more cycling
8:41am Tuesday 5th March 2013 in News By Omar Oakes
A stream of cyclists dusted off their bikes ready for the spring at a free cycle clinic.
The ‘On Your Bike’ weekend, organised by The Friends of West Barnes Library in Motspur Park, saw 17 people taken on a six mile ride to Merton Abbey Mills with marshals from the London Cycling Campaign on Saturday, March 2.
Events co-ordinator Theresa Clarke said: "It all went really well. Only one person had to drop out of the ride early due to a puncture."
Inside the library, Charles Barraball, co-ordinator of the Merton Cycling Campaign, gave a talk about cycling and how it fits into the overall transport landscape.
The Friends of West Barnes Library will be holding a Quiz Night on Friday, April 19. For more information calls 020 8274 5789 or email westbarnes.library@merton.gov.uk.
