Merton Police launch 'back to basics' campaign
Merton Police went back to basics this week with a campaign targeting crime prevention.
Operation Fortress launched on Monday to remind residents to take basic measures to prevent burglary and motor theft.
Residents will also be able to take part in a free crime prevention survey with trained officers who will offer advice and assistance on preventing crime.
Stuart Buchan, acting chief inspector, said: "Unfortunately a large percentage of the victims of crime, particularly in respect of burglary and motor vehicle crime, unintentionally assist the criminal by failing to take a few basic crime prevention measures."
Anyone wishing to take part in a survey should contact their safer neighbourhood team.
