Wimbledon teenager Danielle Connor strikes up friendship with fox
3:50pm Monday 28th January 2013 in News
A teenager has spoken of her unlikely friendship with an urban fox.
Danielle Connor, a student at Ursuline High School with a love of wildlife photography, took these close-up shots of ‘Caspian’ who she says she has built an "unforgettable" close friendship with.
After several months of coaxing, the 17-year-old can now come within a meter of Caspian who frequently visits her home in Wimbledon.
Miss Connor believes foxes have been unfairly portrayed in the media and that they had adapted to live alongside us and we should do the same.
In an article submitted to the Wimbledon Guardian's Young Reporters scheme, she said: "Although I’ve always been interested in foxes, my attitude towards foxes has greatly changed with my relationship with Caspian.
"I now have respect for foxes and I hope people in Wimbledon, Surrey and around the world can also have this respect and can learn to live with our fox neighbours rather than be against them."
Miss Connor, who has aspirations to work in zoology, has her own photography website at danielleconnorphotography.zenfolio.com
