The Russian State Ballet of Siberia will be in Wimbledon next month bringing some of the world’s most popular ballets to the stage.

The company, led by artistic director Sergei Bobrov, set off on their UK tour in December and will reach the New Wimbledon Theatre on February 28 for three days only.

The Russian State Ballet of Siberia, based in the Russian town of Krasnoyarsk, has over time established itself as one of Russia’s leading ballet companies with its dancers gaining worldwide acclaim and 2013 will mark the company’s eleventh visit to the UK.

Accompanied by the Russian State Ballet Orchestra of Siberia, the company will be performing both Swan Lake and Coppélia over three nights at the theatre.

Coppélia is set in a doll maker’s workshop where a light hearted take on mistaken identity, magic and mayhem make for a perfect performance for families and first time ballet goers.

Billed as ‘the greatest romantic ballet of all time’, Tchaikovsky’s Sawn Lake will be brought to life for two nights featuring its haunting and unforgettable score.

Follow this tragic tale of romance complete with sweeping ensemble pieces and breath-taking solos.
