The man accused of murdering schoolgirl Tia Sharp was further remanded in custody after appearing at the Old Bailey today.

Stuart Hazell appeared via videolink from Belmarsh prison and was remanded until his plea and case management hearing on March 8.

The 37-year-old is charged with murdering the schoolgirl between August 2 and 11 last year.

The 12-year-old's body was found in the loft of her grandmother's New Addington home a week after she was reported missing.

A trial date has been set for May 7.
