Disabled people will be able to enjoy discounted membership at sports and leisure facilities in Merton thanks to a new initiative launched this week.
The Better Health and Fitness Inclusive membership card was launched at the House of Commons on Wednesday, January 9, by Giles Long MBE, Paralympic gold medallist and broadcaster in partnership with social enterprise and leisure provider GLL.
The card will allow disabled residents to join Morden Park Pools, Canons and Wimbledon leisure centres for £19.95 a month while their carers will be able to use the facilities for free.
Cardholders will also be able to use any other GLL facility in the UK at no extra cost.
To be eligible customers must be over 16 years old and must be receiving either severe disablement allowance, mobility allowance, disability living allowance, industrial injuries disablement benefit, disablement benefit, attendance allowance or employment and support allowance.
For more information visit or call your local GLL centre.
