Merton schools open ahead of heavy snowfall

All schools in Merton are open as normal this morning as snow begins to fall across the borough. 

Two schools have taken the decision to close at lunchtime amid predicted heavier snowfall later in the day.

These schools include Hollymount School in Wimbledon and Gorringe Park Primary in Mitcham.

Other schools have said they will be reviewing the weather conditions throughout the day and could close at lunchtime should weather conditions worsen.

UPDATE 12.20pm 

The following schools will close early today. 

Aragon Primary in Morden - 1pm

Haslemere Primary in Mitcham - 1.30pm

Joseph Hood Primary in Merton Park - 1.15pm

Merton Abbey Primary in South Wimbledon - 1pm

Sherwood School in Mitcham - 1pm

Hollymount Primary in Wimbledon - 1.15pm

Gorringe Park Primary in Mitcham - 1.45pm
