Motorcyclist hospitalised after swerving to avoid pedestrian outside Mitcham Junction station

A motorcyclist has been hospitalised with a severe leg injury after swerving to avoid a pedestrian this morning.
Ambulance crews were called to Carshalton Road outside Mitcham Junction station at 7.14am to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.
A 44-year-old man was taken as a priority to St George's Hospital in Tooting with a severe leg injury.
The pedestrian was not injured.
Carshalton Road was closed for vehicle recovery and reopened shortly before 9am.
