Residents offered free Christmas tree recycling service
Do your bit for the environment this New Year by recycling your Christmas tree.
Merton Council will be offering a free Christmas tree recycling service on January 7 collecting trees from across the borough.
To take advantage of the eco-friendly initiative, residents should remove all decorations from their tree and place it at the front of their property – but not on the pavement – before 6am on January 7.
All trees will be collected by January 20 and recycled into compost.
Residents can also take their Christmas tree to the Reuse and Recycling Centre in Garth Road, Morden.
If your tree has not been collected by January 20 call the council’s waste service helpline on 020 8274 4902.
