The Mayor of London wants to end violence against women
Booklets giving advice on spotting the signs of abuse are being distributed across the borough.
The booklets give tips to friends and family on how to spot early warning signs and what help is available.
It comes after the UN’s International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women day, which was yesterday.
The Mayor of London is distributing the booklets across Merton, with figures showing one in four women will experience domestic violence.
Stephen Greenhalgh, the deputy mayor for policing and crime said: "Nobody should have to endure domestic or sexual violence.
"The aim of this campaign is to help the family and friends of victims to spot the signs of abuse and ensure no-one has to suffer in silence."
People will also be able to find the booklets in GP surgeries, libraries and youth clubs.
