Britain’s only official 5-a-side Movember football tournament kicks off this weekend to help raise money and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.
The Movember Cup takes place at the Goals Soccer Centre off the Beverley Way, West Barnes, on Sunday November 24 at 4pm.
Movember is responsible for thousands of ‘Mos’ appearing on men’s faces in the UK and around the world every November.
The aim of the campaign is to raise money and awareness of men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer charities - and last year raised more than £79.3 million.
Goals Wimbledon Centre manager, Nick Illingworth, said: “Our Movember tournament will be a lot of fun, but with a serious message at the heart of it. We hope to have as many Mos as possible taking part in the tournament and to raise lots of money for this great cause.
“For those who are unable to grow their own, we’ll even provide you with a temporary one for £2.00 with all the proceeds going to the charity.”
You can enter your team in to the event by contacting Goals Wimbledon on 020 8949 1122, or by visiting www.goalsfootball.co.uk/movember
Entry fee is £40, with all players also receiving a complimentary grooming kit from Gillette. For more information visit www.goalsfootball.co.uk or www.movember.com.
