British Transport Police have named the man killed by a train at Wimbledon station last week.
Emergency services were called to Wimbledon station at 12.55pm on Wednesday, October 31, where they pronounced the man, 50-year-old Michael Burdin of Shepperton, Surrey, dead at the scene.
An inquest is due to be opened and resumed next year into the circumstances surrounding the death A BTP spokesman said: “The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and the man's family has been informed."
“A file has been prepared for the Coroner.
“The train involved was the 11.54am Basingstoke to London Waterloo service and the line was handed back to Network Rail at 2.42pm.”
