Families across Merton celebrated the annual Hindu festival of Durga Puja this week.
The festival, which fell between October 20 and 24, is a long-standing tradition in Hindi culture daing back to 400AD and symbolises good triumphing over evil.
A series of cultural events and presentations were made at the South London Durga Puja Chak 89, Mitcham throughout the celebration.
On Monday, Mitcham residents Dilip Sinha and Arup Ghose, made an offering to the Goddess Durga, the deity who is central to the celebration
