A family has been left shaken after three masked intruders broke into their home and assaulted them before stealing their gold.
The robbery happened on October 17 at a property in Tamworth Lane, Mitcham at about 11pm.
The men, two black and one white, were wearing balaclavas when they forced their way through a back door and assaulted a 72-year old man, his 65-year old wife and their son who is in his 30s, before ransacking the home and taking a quantity of gold.
The family were taken to hospital with cuts and bruises but were not seriously injured.
Merton Police said they have seen an increasing number of gold thefts recently, particularly targeting households of Asian descent for Asian gold, and warned residents to remain vigilant should anyone offer them gold.
Anyone with information should call Merton Police on 101.
