A popular children’s book about a dancing dog is being adapted by an award-winning ballet company in Croydon.
Anna Kemp’s Dogs Don’t Do Ballet, about a pooch called Biff who practices pirouettes in the park, has been adapted as Ballet Black’s first family show and is coming to Fairfield Halls on May 27 and 28.
It features music from Elgar, Faure and Tchaikovsky and is choreographed by Christopher Marney.
Black Ballet’s founder and artistic director Cassa Pancho MBE said: “I am thrilled that we have been able to adapt this much-loved children’s book into a ballet – something I have wanted to do since buying the book for my goddaughter in 2011.”
Tickets cost £12 adults and £8.50 children. Go to Fairfield.co.uk or call 020 8688 9291.
