Pull the Other Theatre Education (PtO) will launch their eagerly anticipated professional Youth Acting Company this Autumn taking up weekly residency at the Epsom Playhouse from September.

Having had six extremely successful Holiday Workshop programmes on Shakespeare and Classic Literature since 2012, PtO are meeting popular demand by launching an Acting Company for juniors (8-12 years) and seniors (13-16 years starting from 9 September 2014.

The Acting Company will dedicate two terms to the internationally recognised LAMDA acting qualifications, which PtO has been successfully teaching in schools and privately since 2013. The third term will be committed to working as a professional ensemble in rehearsals for performance. All three terms will ensure constant professional training in acting, voice, movement, ensemble theatre-making practice and the study of various theatre practitioners.

PtO’S founding member and Artistic Director, Rachel Nussbaum, is a working actor and theatre practitioner. Rachel said: “We created PtO as we want to invest in young people’s exposure to important literary and practical theatre styles in a fun, inventive and professional environment. We feel it’s key that participants have regular access to high quality literature and drama programmes, the likes of which are only currently on offer in central London. Now with PtO these are available right in central Epsom!”

“Whether you like reading, writing, performing, or dream of experiencing different worlds and characters then joining PtO’s youth theatre ensemble is for you. Being a member of a theatre ensemble develops and broadens individuals’ social and cognitive skills, builds self confidence, strengthens talents and promotes team work and commitment. We work with each individual to create that base of skills and tools, allowing members to continually develop and access these in all areas of their life and study.”
