Ahead of the launch of the new series of Celebrity Big Brother, Rylan Clark-Neal revealed that this year’s “villain” would be a female contestant.

And, as the new series kicked off on Thursday on Channel 5, it’s not yet clear who the baddie might be, but viewers took to Twitter to share their dislike over former X Factor star Katie Waissel as she entered the compound.

The 30-year-old is known for being one of the ITV talent show’s most controversial contestants ever after appearing in 2010 and getting into a long-running feud with former judge Cheryl.

Rylan, the host of CBB companion show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, told Press Association: “I do like the villains because it takes a lot of bollocks for celebs to be the villains. I’m not that type of person myself.

“We’ve got a villain in there this year, definitely. It could be a woman…”

Twitter erupted with general dislike over her entry, although she is keen to show people a different side to her, six years on from her X Factor days.

Some even made quips, asking for her former X Factor co-star Gamu Nhengu – who she trumped to be chosen for the final three on the series – to replace her in the house.

The other potential female “villains” include Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson, Mob Wives’ Renee Graziano, Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day, former X Factor wannabe Chloe Khan and Loose Women’s Saira Khan.
