Zoolander star Ben Stiller shows off his best Blue Steel in the teaser for the comedy sequel.

The 49-year-old actor reprises his role as fashion model Derek Zoolander in the follow-up to the 2001 movie, alongside Owen Wilson as his catwalk rival Hansel McDonald.

Ben’s alter-ego Derek turns philosopher in the sneak peek of Zoolander 2, which features the voice of speech synthesiser DECTalk Dennis.

With the computer-generated voice questioning the meaning of life, it’s left to Derek to ask the most important question of all: “If God exists, why did he make ugly people?”

Shooting on the film wrapped on July 15, and the second movie is expected to be released in February 2016.

Here’s what else we know about Zoolander 2.

1. It’s going to feature a lot of stars

As well as Owen, Will Ferrell and Billy Zane, Penelope Cruz, Kristen Wiig and Olivia Munn have joined the star-studded cast.

Justin Bieber and celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are amongst the celebrity cameos. And there have been rumours that renowned fashion editor Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss could also make guest appearances.

2. There will be a Derek-Hansel face-off

They may have made up and become friends, with Ben saying: “Apparently Derek and Hansel have come to terms on #Zoolander2″, but the arch-nemeses just cannot let old rivalries die.

Fans of the pair will rejoice, as Ben and Owen’s characters reprise their walk-off on the Valentino catwalk at Paris Fashion Week.

3. We’ll meet Derek’s son

With the sequel set around 14 years on from the original, Derek and Matilda’s child has grown up.

Cyrus Arnold is the young star who will play Derek’s teenage son in Zoolander 2. The actor previously appeared in two episodes of Nickelodeon’s Sam And Cat, the Netflix revival of Richie Rich and the TV sitcom adaptation of About A Boy.

4. The film is set in Rome

Ciao Bella! Zoolander 2 definitely has found some Italian inspiration, with the shoot taking place in Rome.

From Ben’s Instagram, we can deduce there will be scenes at the Colosseum, the Caracalla baths, Palazzo Congressi and the Mandrione area.

5. There’s a hippo

Yep, there is a hippopotamus in Zoolander 2. We’re not quite sure what Emilio’s role is, so we’ll have to wait and see.
