If you found George Clooney pulling pints at your local pub, you’d probably do a double take.
But it seems the 54-year-old has ambitions to own the “greatest pub in the world” – if it wasn’t for divine intervention.
The Tomorrowland actor and his wife Amal Alamuddin have become regulars at the Bull Inn in Sonning-on-Thames, Berkshire, after buying a £10 million manor house in the village.
According to the Daily Mail, the heartthrob actor has dubbed it the “greatest pub in the world” and recently told a barman that he’d like to buy the site.
But the country pub is owned by nearby St Andrew’s Church, and the vicar has vowed never to let it change hands, explaining: “It’s been in the church for 600 years. We’re never going to sell it. We’re not interested.”
