A safari-themed adventure golf course is set to open in Hersham this summer.

The 18-hole course - complete with a growling gorilla, a scary lion, a water-shooting elephant, a jeep, a plane and volcano – will be unveiled at Hersham Golf Club on Saturday (August 1).

To mark its opening, the club will host a summer fete from 11am to 6pm with activities including an inflatable assault course, bouncy castle, surf simulator, a fun fair and more.

Entry to the fete is free.

Hersham Golf Club’s chief executive Mehmet Arkin said: “Safari Adventure Golf is a fun and interesting way of introducing kids to the game of golf and gives mums and dads the chance to entertain their kids whilst also doing something physically active.”

“With the summer holidays here, this is an ideal place to come with the children, get them outdoors, and let them learn a new skill in a relaxed and leafy environment.”

Prices for adventure golf start from £7.
