Emmerdale star Lesley Dunlop says she feels much more comfortable kissing co-star Tony Audenshaw on screen than her real-life partner Chris Chittell.

Lesley, who plays Brenda Walker in the ITV soap, stars alongside Chris who plays Pollard, but admitted she felt much more at home cast as Tony’s character Bob Hope’s love interest than she did when Brenda and Pollard were together.

She told Inside Soap: “I didn’t like it when Brenda and Pollard were an item and we had to do kissing scenes in front of everybody. I’d end up thinking, ‘Go away, this is private!’

“So I don’t think I’d ever want Brenda and Pollard to get back together again – it’s bad enough living with him in real life!”

She added of her character and Bob: “I hope they can stick together because I love working with Tony Audenshaw. He’s such good fun, and so professional. And he makes up little games for us to play while we’re waiting around between scenes.”

Lesley also revealed that she wasn’t a fan of her character’s wardrobe, which includes plenty of cardies.

She said: “Brenda’s costumes definitely aren’t my pick – if I ever left the show I can’t imagine any bits of her wardrobe I’d want to steal.”
