WhatsApp has launched a feature that lets you delete those embarrassing messages once they are sent.

We've all been a little trigger happy on a message, sent a photo to the wrong group chat or sent a drunken rant at one point or another.

Luckily, WhatsApp has launched a new feature to take it all back and to stop anyone ever seeing those risky messages.

You can now ‘Delete messages for everyone’, but only if you get to it within seven minutes of sending said message.

‘Delete messages for everyone’ allows you to delete specific messages in both a group or individual chat.

A spokesman from the messaging service said: "Messages you successfully delete for everyone will be replaced with 'This message was deleted' in your recipients' chats.

So it puts the pressure on to either stand by what you have said or run away screaming from it.

How to delete messages to everyone:

Open WhatsApp and go to the chat containing the message you wish to delete.

Tap and hold the message > choose Delete from the menu. Optionally, select more messages to delete multiple messages at once.

Tap Delete > Delete for Everyone.
