Bourne Hall Museum Kids Club is hoping to engage youngsters in world history this Easter and bring the past, quite literally, to life.

Children will be given the chance to meet a WWI Tommy and a British Red Coat, fresh from their respective wars. Both soldiers will tell of their daring exploits and experiences of war.

The participants will be given the chance to discover the battle tactics used during different wars, and see genuine weaponry from that time.

The Bourne Hall gladiator school is also due to return, back by popular demand.

Children will learn about the different styles of fighting and weaponry used in the arena, discover the role of gladiators within Roman Society and witness real gladiators demonstrate their prowess in the arena.

Children can also join Janet Dowling, a local storyteller and author of Surrey Folk Tales, in her historically-themed writing club.
