The northern hemisphere’s largest celebration of New Zealand, Australian and South African culture takes place on Clapham Common this weekend.

The three-day Toast festival includes events from Gumboot dancing to polo, fashion competitions to aboriginal performers and live music from likes of Dave Dobbyn and Sneaky Sound System.

On Friday, the gates will open at 3pm as the festival on Clapham Common pays homage to South Africa.

Events begin with the Gumboot dancing performed by dancers in Wellington boots, before rhythm guitarist Rory Eliot, lead singer with Plush, hosts the main stage from 4.30pm.

At 5.30pm there will a polo match between Great Britain and South Africa with have-a-go sessions afterwards and then from 7pm live electronica band Goldfish, from Cape Town, will be headlining the main stage fresh from their residency at Pacha in Ibiza.

On Saturday, it's New Zealand's turn to be centre of attention with gates opening at 11am and a welcome ceremony hosted by former All Blacks star Zinzan Brooke.

From 12.30pm there will be the Great Britain v New Zealand polo match and then a cultural performance from Ngati Ranana, a Maori cultural group based in London.

Jayson Norris and his band will be on the main stage from 3pm with New Zealand icon and award winning musician, Dave Dobbyn headlining from 4pm.

The Australian celebration on Sunday begins at 11am, with MasterChef judge and chef John Torode hosting the welcome ceremony at noon.

The polo match between Great Britain and Australia takes place at 12.30pm before the aboriginal performers take to the stage at 2pm.

On the main stage from 3pm will be Ned Walker and his band before the biggest band in Australia right now, Sneaky Sound System, close the weekend from 4pm.

As well as all the main events there will tonnes of authentic South African, Kiwi and Australian food to taste and plenty of other events to keep you interested throughout the day.

Other highlights: - Over 200 new world wines to try and wine tasting sessions.

- Masterclasses from BBQ Gourmet and New Zealand chef Raymond van Rijk.

- BBQs and South African braais piled high with green lip mussels, lamb burgers and other local treats.

- John Torode dishing up treats like salt and pepper squid, BBQ lamb leg and beef party pies.
